I just recently finished my "Pink" submission and when I uploaded it to the site, the colors on the preview weren't as vivid as they were on my computer. It's like it dulled my whole image. When I look at the saved file, it looks fine. What's going on? |

What program are you using to edit and view the photo on your computer?
Most of the time this kind of thing is caused by edited and viewing using a color space other then sRGB. When you view the photo using your web browser it assumes the photo is in sRGB, so it is a pretty good idea to work in this space when editing a photo, at the very least you will want to save it as an sRGB photo.
You can also veiw the photo using your broswer before uploading it to see how it will look once it is.

Right now, I'm using the Adobe 98 color space in Photoshop CS. I've always used that before because I get a better print out of what I shoot. Let me try to change that around and see if sRGB does it right. |

That was definitely the problem. When I switched over to sRGB most of the colors came back, but it still was lacking a little bit in it's luster. I guess if I'm going to submit something to this site, I should switch over every time. |

Absolutely. Makes all the difference. Also add a little more USM than you think it needs and check the upload when you submit. Keep tweaking the DPC copy and keep uploading it until it looks right. Sometimes I do this 4-5 times to get it right.

Pretty much anytime put have something that will be viewed by a web browser it is best if it is in sRGB.
Also if you are going to have prints done at some place like Costco most people are finding that sRGB works the best. Fuji spent most of their effect in printing digital photos on going from the sRGB color space to their printer's color space. Keep in mind that the Fuji Frontier printer has a narrower color space then either sRGB or Adobe RGB |
