I'll be in FL. So, sadly, I cannot meet you! I love the Huntington! I've only been once, but it was with my work, so I didn't get to photograph it much. I am going again on the 16th with work, again... not much photographing. But, have a great time!
I hope to see your work posted when I get back to LA!

Is it worth it to go and photograph the Huntington? |

I'll be in Laguna Beach Saturday afternoon- would love to get together with other DPCers. Are there any other places you'd be interested in going? |

I'm not sure if I'd be comfortable shooting with someone with so many ribbons!!! LOL
Laguna beach is way too far to drive though... Can you come further north? |

I'm actually going early for a business trip in Valencia, but was told by others 'in the know' that Laguna Beach would be a good place to hang out Saturday. I've never been to CA, so it's all new to me. |

I don't mind driving, but I arrive in Long Beach at 2PM, so that doesn't leave much time. |

I actually live about 2 miles from Valencia. I just don't know if I want to commit myself to dealing with that much traffic since I have to deal with traffic everyday for 70 miles!!! :( |

Well, as if I didn't have enough going on around here, last night about midnight, someone decided to set my house on fire. Lucky thing I was up and able to put it out with minimal damage. I'm guessing that I am probably not going to be going on any February outings. I may be lurking in the bushes though, waiting to photograph the perpetrator should they decide to come back... I guess that could be considered a photo outing!

Mental note... avoid Northridge. Too much crime. Good thing you were able to put it out! You would have totally missed the Smoke and Fire challenges anyway. |

Eric, I might have a little free time in Valencia Monday afternoon-evening, but I'd rather not drive too far North on Saturday to maximize what little time I have. |

Scalvert, if you are new to California then it's a MUST that I show you Venice Beach! There are endless things to photograph and it's about 35 miles or so south of Valencia. What do you think? |

That's a possibility, but I probably wouldn't get there until 3:30-4pm. |

I'd recommend the Huntington Library during spring or summer. I was there recently and nothing was in bloom. Only green grass and brown trees. If you want to shoot the buildings or statues, then it doesn't matter. I was there a few weeks ago and was disappointed b/c most everything was green and brown. Not very colorful. It is $15 for enterence if you are interested though.

Thanks for the info. I think that's out now and Venice Beach is in. |

Would you like to do it in the mid afternoon sometime? That way "scalvert" can meet up with us.

Will you be leaving Valencia and going straight to Venice Beach? If so, you can follow me all the way there. |
