This photo isn't anything I'm trying to show off, this is just a quick photo that I took for my Mom in her garden, and I thought any botanists out there would like to see this. It was night so I did what I could with the flash. I know nothing about flowers like these, but according to her, they only bloom once every ten years, and aren't that common. She was pretty excited. I wish she would have noticed it earlier, it's sort of wilted a bit now. That black stamen(?) was probably 5-6 inches long and there was a nasty smell to the flower.

Looks like a Black Calla Lily to me.
