And for those interested in playing with it, here's a smallsize original.

Thanks!

I can respect that. :)

I like those, butterflysis, but to do a fair comparison you should apply USM to them...they do need some sharpening...then I can compare them to ZZ's, which is still my favourite.

Oops, forgot to sharpened. I fixed them. I like zeuszens also.

I want to play, could you send the original to nickb@bbhc.org?

Mike, you've got mail (PM).

Thanks, zz...It looks absolutely great!

I've downloaded it, so you can remove it from the website whenever you like...

Thanks again...what exactly does diffuse glow do (other than make it look really nice), technically speaking?

Nick, I'll e-mail it to you now...

I like it, but it's not where I was hoping this image would go...but it does look nice!

THIS, I LOVE.

I'm not too technically inclined, Mike. In the image below, you'll see a more liberal use of Diffuse Glow, which I think gives you a good idea. It's probably my favourite effect filter, even though I don't use it often and mostly sparingly.

Beautiful, and a great use of the filter...

Done(mostly) with level & hue/saturation layers(2 of each). You lose some details in the tree on the right, but I think there's a better contrast. Not sure the color is exactly has good as it could be, but it's a 5 minute editing. Cropped the bottom also, as it's a little distracting and has little interesting details.

A bit of fun with it.

Since everyone's going to town in their own way, here's another take. Don't even ASK me to explain what I did here...

Tip o' the hat to Zeus for introducing diffuse glow, which I'd (amazingly) never tried, but I went beyond that. Way beyond....

Robt.
