I am trying to eliminate all errors for my page so I can see when I have link issues when I add stuff. I know what a robot.txt file does but I dont have one. Can I just make an empty file in MSword and put in there? Where would I put it?

Check this link out ROBOT.TXT

I use this on my webserver because I don't want search engines to archive/list my contents. It works great.

Where to put it, well that depends on you but you can put it in any folder you don't want archived/scanned and/or in the root of you webserver. You should read up on the options.
