I've seen some photos with some interesting backgrounds. Is it "legal" in an Advanced Editing Challenge to incorporate some Photoshop-made backgrounds? Things such as filling an area with a color and softening it. Also, using render-lighting (blue spotlight). How about a colorful gradient?

Just curious....not sure I can even do those things.

Anothr question....how do you assign a link to some words in a post ...like...."look HERE, to see how..." where the word "HERE" is the actual link.

Thanks!

No. You can't 'remove' existing background and add your own in photoshop. You can selectively blur/darken/lighten.....

It is not legal to create (render by computer or by hand) any detail that was not present in the original. That pretty much leaves out any PS-crated BGs.
It is also not legal to remove detail to the exgtent that it constitutes "removing a major element." Removal of an entire bacckground could certainly be cconsidered a major element.

Right above the text box where you post, there are five icons. The one with the globe on it will help you make a link. First you'll fill out the url you want the words to go to and then the text that will be your link.

There's a tutorial for forum code here.
