I know the DG is hte newer version for digital cameras, but I might be able to get a 500 Super (non-DG) cheap...anyone know if or how well this works on a digital Rebel?

i am interested in the NON-DG super. i know the DG is good and will work. I can get a non-DG for maybe $60....it will work as a slave/remote to the sigma DG or Canon 550. I was wanting to know it the 'plain' super will work with teh Rebel on-camera.

The difference between the two is touched on here:
Sigma EF-500
Also, you may want to check over at dpreview.com. There have been several discussions in their forums on experiences with both versions. From what I've heard, there were some incompatibility problems with the NON-DG working with the 10D. ...Don't know if that applies to the 300D as well.
Hope this helps.
