Hey guys, I'm going to get a new lens in a few days. I originally wanted the Canon 70-200L F2.8 except with the crop factor and being so close to my subjects sometimes (like at a concert) it was too much zoom at times. Keep in mind I don't want a short, super wide angle, it needs to still have some zoom (the 17-40L isn't really a good option I don't think).. something similar to the 70-200 and still L glass (please, let's not start the glass debate :-).
Any suggestions from those working with concerts (or anyone for that matter) would be nice. |

Have you tried working with a prime? The 85mm 1.2 L USM would be good for the low light if the focal length is workable.

I'd say the 85mm would be a good option if the length works.

I already own the 50mm 1.8, which gives me 80mm. So with that in mind I put the 70-200 on hold, I get to pick it up in a few days. I talked it over with the sales guy (whom is a friend) and considering I still need a good zoom and I have a good prime, the 70-200 was still a good choice.
:-)
Yea, it's like a late Christmas. |
