Congratulations ... My son came 10 weeks early and we got to hold him the very next day :) We had to wait 53 days for him to come home though :s

Anyways ... here are some pictures of him in the early stages of his two and a half year life.

He's adorable. :) And who needs DPC ribbon quality? I think these are much better.

One thought- it might be worth trying to use manual focus while he's in the isolette. The plexiglass can play silly buggers with the AF. (Not to inject some photography into a joyus event or anything) :)

Congrats to you all again. Thoughts and prayers to you and yours.

No! No! No! This distracting medical paraphernalia is part of Michael's short, but very important history. No cloning! Let the photos be just how they are.

Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments which I've passed on to the new mum also. I feel priviledged to be a small part of this online community.

The internet is always coming in for so much abuse, especially here in Australia recently. Now photographers are coming under suspicion. There have even been calls to ban cameras in public places here in Queensland because of certain dodgy people posting what they call 'candid' shots of young children on the internet.

I wish the media could show both sides of the story and tell people that not everyone who uses the internet is a sad loser and not everyone with a camera is a paedophile.

Oh and debitipton below, I think my fellow bear had his tongue firmly in his cheek there ;)

Congratulations!! Imagine how much more hair he would have had after 4 weeks!! As mom to a baldy, I have hair-envy.

Cherish the moments with your sweet, soft, pink baby! Congrats and kudos to mom too!

Little fella is off the oxygen already and we got to have a nurse this evening before he went back in the crib.

'Urro

A huge congrats from down across the ditch.

All the best wishes to the whole family, and enjoy every moment of the months ahead.... I got to deliver our wee daughter just over 17 months ago, and it has gone way to fast for my liking.

I took a couple of photos when she was about 5 minutes old.. They are out of focus, and under exposed, but they are the most precious photos I've ever taken.

Cheers, Chris H.

You can say that twice and mean it....
True it is:)

Congratulations !

A Baby
A baby brings so much to a home.
New sights. New sounds. New smells.
How can something so small shake things up so much?
Suddenly, a new family is created.
A cry in the night.
The warmth of new skin.
To touch, to learn, to think.
It̢۪s a new life to lead, with many changes to come.
Experiences to cherish.
Many photographs to take.
A baby is to love.

Congratulations on your beautiful new arrival! Your pictures are just perfect the way they are & you will always cherish them. In a few months, you'll look back & be awed by how much he's already changed. May he be healthy & happy & bring you much joy!! (remember that at 3 a.m. when he won't go back to sleep...:S) How is the little guy doing now? I'm sure everyone would like an update when you have time...

Debbi (wife of Moose101 & Logan's mommy)

P.S. Tell your wife she looks great!

From a very proud dad :)

I can relate.. My twins were 10 weeks premie. They were barely 2 pounds a piece! Spent a good part of 3 months in the hospital visiting them. Scary times. My prayers and thoughts are with you in your trying time.

They are absolutely beautiful shots.

He was four weeks early so we have to watch him through the plexiglass for now when all we want to do is hold him.

His little lungs are getting stronger by the minute though so in the next few days I'll have a great new model to work with.

Funny how I no longer care about my crappy score in the 'Three' challenge. :)

Oh, born premature? I was born three months early. Congratulations! :D

I didn't notice at first, your post is at 10:00 am 1/28. Is his birthday by chance 1/27? If so, same as my daughters birthday. We had her birthday party this weekend. Congrat's again.

No mate, he was born on 28th Jan. That must have been the server time which is US I presume. I actually posted it at about 2 am after coming back from the hospital.

Latest news is that he is doing great. They took him off the oxygen after only 12 hours and his little lungs are working well now. He will have to stay in the special care unit for a few weeks before we get to bring him home which is tough.

I so hope there IS a newborn challenge soon :)

Thanks again for all your kind words of support, they are very much appreciated.

Congratulations!!! Give him an extra little hug from those of us in Colorado who look forward to seeing his progress as he grows!! All best wishes for a happy and healthy life ahead. Hugs for mom and dad and the rest of the family too.

Those fuzzy instamatic pictures my husband took of our first daughter's arrival 28 years ago are still cherished images in our household. And we DO remember it as if it were yesterday. Cherish each day. They grow up much too fast!!
