Any comments on this photo...?

Here is one with the tree shadows cloned out and the tone of the trees increased.

Personally I prefer the less "dreamy" version, but the trees shadows are too heavy. Maybe you can soften them a bit. Not completely clone out but just get them around the tones of the rest of the shadows on the snow.

In the cleaner picture, I find it a bit too dreamy. I can't even understand what I'm seeing. It's just dark, cold and nothing interesting is happening there, IMO.

well the cold, dark atmosphere is the look I was trying to achieve...but I do agree it's alittle too dreamy.

Can I ask a question without you taking offense?

Why did you take this photo? What was your insperation behind it? What are you trying to convey to the viewer?

Looking at your shot, I see a heavily post-processed image which you're trying to use to convey some sort of emotion from the viewer. The image, however, appears to be one where you stood there in the middle of the road and snapped a shot. There is little in this shot that shows me that you are trying to achieve anything more than a record of the moment, and using that with post processing to achieve a certain mood. Do you have any shots at different angles, heights, zoom lengths, shutter/aperture speeds, etc.?

I'm not trying to rip the image apart, just trying to understand why you took this particular photo the way you did.
