I like the second an third ones the most, I think with images like this you need to bring out the tones and get a stong contrast.
Try playing with curves on the forth one - I think it has a lot of potential it you can really get the smoke/steam to stand out.
I'd also suggest that you burn the sky on the third one, this should look stunning in contrast to the snow.
Hope this helps :)

Left a few comments. I'd like to see the first two in color.

I like them all, the third one and possibly the forth are tilted just a bit.
I like number one and two the most.

It might be going too far, but with the third try gradually burning to the point that it is pure black in the top left and try a 5px solid black border.

Colda;
Was this what you had in mind?
Don't know if the sky is pushing it, or not, but I like it; Very rich. Thank you. :)

I like it :)
Slight suggestion, make the border solid rather than faded (adds to harsh contrast), and see if you can bring up the contast a little on the mountains and foreground.
Maybe even try a 10px border - I think the image can take it :)

Clicking on the image it appears not, look at the foreground - there is about a 4px gradient. I dunno the method that you use to add a border but try this, get the image (without border) to a width of 620px, then increase the canvas size to 640px width and +20px height (so disable the keeping the aspect ratio bit), make sure that you select the image to be centered, use black (background?) and flatten the image (merge layers), this should ensure that there is no 'clever' blending going on. I'm sure that someone will be able to give you a more direct way of doing it but this is the method I use with Gimp :)

Ok...It's past Igor's bedtime. 3:45am, not quite a record, but a work in progress.
