Alright, which is better. Or what is better about either one. Constructive critism is very appreciated.
The latter was disqualified from the "Macro without bugs or flowers" challenge becasue my camera was accidentally set back by 2 months. Too bad, it would have won 2nd place. :( |

I like the color of the newer one, and the needle seems sharper.
But the newer one seems more like digital art, and thus appears less "natural" than the older one, as silly as that may sound. So I like them both in their own way, though I wish the older one was as crisply focused as the newer one (along the needle).
Hope that helps ;) |

I think that the syringe color and cleanliness definitely make the newer one more pleasing to the eye. Also the bright red adds a lot to the composition of the photo. However i must say that the drop in the older one is more appealing, maybe because it really gives the impression that its about to fall. I think its also because it is not right at the edge of the syringe, which leaves the tip very nice and sharp, and not distorted.
Another detail that boost the new image is the fact that the bottom of the needle fades into the backround, adding more interest.
Good work, too bad it just fell short of winning a ribbon. |

I like the original entry. The alternate is more subtle but the original really rocks with the red glow which brings out the ray-like star out more. This effect is almost hypnotic. |

I like the breaking new ground version. It seems cleaner. Strange for me to not have many many more words, but I have really said enough. :-)
