If I am going to print an image, should i simply print it how it is (in RGB) or would it look better if i first converted it to CMYK in photoshop?

Thanks

Depends on the output device. Fuji and Noritsu photo printers are definitely RGB, but inkjets may or may not do better with the image pre-converted, although most do it with their own algorithm, so for most purposes you can leave it in RGB*.

You'll have to print some test images (preferably side by side) in both formats to see.

*If you're taking it to an offset printer to have 5000 postcards printed, you'll need CMYK.

So if, say, i was taking them to wal-mart to be printed, what should i do, would i leave RGB? I think they use a fuji for printing.

Also....should i change the resolution to 300 on my own before taking them in....or would my pictures get printed at maximum resolution for the desired print size anyway?

thanks

For printing on a Fuji Frontier you should bring them an RGB JPEG file. Leave it with as many pixels as you have, but check to see that the aspect ratio is correct for the size print you make or you may get undesirable cropping.
