Are gradients allowed in basic editing? The effect I'm questioning is presumably using an adjustment layer, and overlaying a coloured gradient to give a rainbow effect over the original shot. |

I read in another thread that they were illegal in Basic. |

I asked this question late in 2004 and was told that they are not allowed in basic editing since the gradient does not affect the whole image in a uniform manner. They are not permitted in basic editing.

I never have been able to figure out how to effectively use those gradients. Any hints or suggestions? |

If you find an image in any challenge that you feel breaks one or more rules for that challenge, please request a DQ against it so that the SC can investigate. And of course, always vote as though the image is legal...

There's no button for a DQ after a challenge is over. |
