I have EricP's cell I believe. I don't think I still have EricQ's cell. I will PM EricQ with my cell as well.

I was thinking, since there is free parking in Chinatown, that would work fine for me. I'll have to see what the Erics want to do.

Okay, we need a rain contingency plan for Saturday.

My thoughts: We should check the weather when we wake up and everyone call me at 7:20am to check in. If it's gonna rain, we'll go _____________.

Help me fill in the blank. Possibly: Cal Science Center, Bowling (24 hour bowling place???), breakfast/starbucks then...., help! I am out of indoor ideas.

Of all the days, the damn rain has to happen on the 29th!!! If it is going to rain, I'll have to pass on that day since I have some video work I need to get done. :(

That would be terribly sad if it rained and ruined our plans. I've been really looking forward to this!

What does everyone else want to do?

Rainy Day Ideas:

Cal Science Center,

breakfast/starbucks then...., help! I am out of indoor ideas.

J. Paul Getty Museum <----free (free is good) :)
Peterson Auto Museum
Long Beach Aquarium

Are these get-togethers open to any local members?
01/25/2005 01:08:10 PM · #108
The Getty is most outdoors (the good stuff anyhow). The paintings are inside, but not much to photograph there as they only allow quick shots with no flash and no tripod. I like that place though.

Never been to the auto museum. Would a girl who could care less about cars find enough to photograph there?

The LB Aquarium could be really cool! Cal Science is free though and in downtown LA. The LB Aqu may cost too much. not sure. I really like that idea though.

(by-the-way) Thanks for the invitation to join you.
I'd like that one of these days.

Ive never been to the Cal Science Museum.

I think if it rains on us, we should go to Cal Science. We can still meet in Chinatown and carpool to CalScience since parking is $6 there.

Any thoughts?

That sounds fine for me... Damn... 60% chance of rain on Saturday.
Whatever the group is up to, I'm fine with it.

I am really upset by the rain possibilities. I really wanted this weekend to be beautiful to show my FL friends how great Southern Cali is. :( They'll be here friday morning and they are leaving sunday morning. Phooey. Wish for sun!!!!!

bummer- I just got a call from my SGT.(boss) I guess I need to pull extra duty at my job. I was really pumped-up and looking forward to meeting the LA DPC group. I'll monitor the threads for the next meet. Looking forward to seeing the pics you guys take. Sounded like fun. I will try again at a later date. LA is my stomping grounds even thou I live in the San Francisco bay area I make a trip down there at least once a month, have fun .

Okay, RAIN or SHINE

8:00am
Chinatown (Figueroa Terrace & College Avenue bus stop for DASH/LADOT)

If it rains, we'll head to Cal Science Ctr
If it shines, we head to the Flower Markets & Fashion District

Everyone who's a definite yes, send me a PM or post here asap so I can make a list of who to wait for at the DASH stop!
