Last minute as per usual was trying out some ideas for Old/New challenge when I got sidetracked by this cicada shell.
Would've been really cool if the insect had still been there. My ideas for the challenge were hopeless! Will sit this one out and look towards the Light!

| To be honest, I'm confused by this image. I like the clarity of detail on the shell, but the diagonal, the composition and the background boke don't seem to emphasise the subject. Rather, they detract from it. |

Thanks Jim, I was so busy focusing on the shell that I didn't really sit back and look at the b/g distractions. I'll re-edit and see how that looks.
