The photo doesn't jump out at me, so I wasn't going to comments, but I see that no one else has either, so I thought I should try to offer some constructive feedback.
I think the knocker itself has some appeal, and the peeling paint on the door is interesting too. However, the photo doesn't enhance them artistically in my opinion. It has the feel of "oh, I like that knocker, let me take a picture" rather than "Hmmm, now that's interesting; I'd like to accentuate the way the light hits that brass which creates a shiny/new feel next to the contrasting age of the peely painted door." In short, we need to see what caught your breath when you were looking at this.
Several points:
Composition: This is a straight on, centered, very tight shot. None of those three features seems to help create beauty in this photograph. Zoomed out more to give the knocker more context would help. Centered might still work, but try exploring off center as well. Straight on in this case seems to create too much light reflection in the brass from your flash.
Lighting: Looks like natural light along with the on-board flash. I'd try turning the caera flash off and see what you come up with.
Color: This is in my opinion the best thing this photo has going for it as is. Even so, I think it would be enhanced by losing the flas as previously mentioned.
Keep shooting, and shoot the same subject a variety of ways.
All feedback meant to be helpful; disregard whatever you did not find useful.
