Or the Steelers fans could be gracious losers?

wrong on all accounts. I'm still proud to be a steelers fan.

are his!
2) Hiding their faces
1) To soak up the tears of disapointment!

GO PATS!!!!!!!

Didn't the Patriots lose to the Steelers once? Then blew them out of the water when it counted? :)

I almost wish the Steelers had gotten to the Superbowl...maybe if they'd been better...

Just for the record I didn't see any Steeler fans with bad feelings towards the Pats tonight. If anything what I did see tonight was the Steeler fans rallying behind the Patroits. While the Eagles fans have done nothing but bad mouth the Steelers all night so again I ask this question what was the reason your almighty Eagles lost to the Steelers I believe it was on November 6.

Oh, please.

You've been bad-mouthing the Eagles all season. It sounds like maybe you don't like the taste of your own medicine?

To the Steelers fans: Congratulations on a great season. Sorry you didn't make it to the big game; it would have been that much more exciting.

I was a little stunned how that stadium started emptying in 3rd quarter. In a PLAYOFF game? sheesh. Hang around after to tell the team you love 'em, people...

Terry only time I bad mouthed the Eagles was when someone came into a Steeler thread and started bad mouthing the Steelers and if you look back through the threads today I even expected the Eagles to win today and supported them.

Very much so. The eagles are undefeated coming off of a bye week under Andy Reid :)

It's proven, when we have an extra week to prepare, we come out on top.

As far as why the eagles lost to the steelers in the regular season. We had a bad game that we couldnt recover from. Much like the Pats lost to them the week before. This superbowl is going to be one of the best anyones seen in years.

As a Pats fan I am overjoyed with the outcome of this game and would like to offer my condolences to the Steelers organization and their fans. They are all a class act. Remember, Rothlisberger is a rookie...he can only get better. The Steelers are going to be the team to watch over the next few years whereas the future of my Pats is questionable as they will be losing their offensive and defensive coordinators after this season.

Good job Steelers and we will see you next year!

Go PATS!!!

Well, just got home and I'm feeling particularly un-ambitious... so I'll post some photos tomorrow :)

My feelings on the game... we lost because we deserved to lose. We stunk! You can't win a game by turning the ball over four times. We had some really questionable play calling, and I just get the feeling that some of our guys are over-coached. I think if they'd let the guys go out and do what they're best at, they'd deliver... but it seems like as soon as the coaching staff saps the fun out of the game for these guys, we turn to jello and everything goes to hell.

Hopefully Ben will turn out to be just as good a QB as he started out to be, and the game hasn't messed up his head :)

Anyhow... the Patriots kicked our butts tonight, and they certainly deserve to be in the Super Bowl for the third time in four years -- they've really earned it. It'll be a fun Super Bowl to watch -- just wish I could have watched it in Jacksonville instead of from my couch! :)

Ok... here are a few random shots from last night, mostly of various people sulking.

Again, I want to publicly thank the folks who have said they look forward to seeing my shots after the game -- I really appreciate the encouragement! It's a bit depressing to think I won't get to do this again until August!

The first shot is one of the room where all of the photographers were jam packed. Normally this is the visiting college locker room. In the regular season it's used for photographers to grab a bite to eat. Yesterday it was transformed into an extra photo lab, with wireless access to the Internet for the throng of media dudes:

These are just awesome shots, Alan! It's interesting to note that the first one with all the photographers doesn't show a single one of them with a camera (or several) hanging around their necks!?

I'll be looking forward to studying these more when I get home from work. Thanks for sharing!

Well... I can promise that the room was filled with enough camera equipment to make any one of us drool, though :) There were mighty fine lenses and cameras all over the floor, mainly. I think you can see some stuff tucked away under the tables. I can only imagine how much $$ was tied up in the equipment in that room!

Great shots Alan. I envy your assignments!

My favorite is the shot of Namath. Looks like he's sober. That could be worth something someday, a rarity! ;-)

Alan, it's been a fun ride even though it ended a little too soon for some of us. IMHO, your photos are every bit as good as those of a staff photog at a major daily, or the SI guys. And the insight you have shared with us about the behind-the-scenes part of shooting at an NFL game is really a privilege for us to enjoy. You've put us on the inside, and made us witness to the rookie season of a future star QB. Thank you very much Alan.

One of the commentators' lines was "It looks like Pittsburgh's found their Tom Brady." Should be one of your lower-priority concerns.

nice work - thanks for posting. too bad about the loss - but it was self inflicted.

Alan those are fantastic photos. Lots of emotion in them you can feel the teams sadness from them.

Okay, no matter what side you are on, that's funny.

Great photos as usual Alan.

Bad luck Steelers :(

Alan, thanks for bringing us closer to the action this season - especially those of us who are (roughly) 3594 miles away! You've made watching Steelers games very enjoyable (though some great football and very tight games helped a bit too).

Looking forward to next season, and more photos, already.
