That is a very rough page of a new site I am developing. The banner looks really shit. Anyway I couldn't find an easy way of doing the fonts the way I wanted, which was single color with second color outline. I had to make the fonts and then do a 1 pixle border around the outside and then color it in to do the outline.
Does anyone know a better way of doing this and do i need pluggins?
Any help that someone can give me would really be appreciated.
Thanks

Type your word. Then:
Layer > Layer style > stroke |

and that will do it all? I will play around with it.
Sorry I am at work at the moment so its hard to imagine what you are saying (not in front of my home computer). I will definitely try that though. What I currently have looks really shit and way too pixleish.

You're just trying to do an outline in a different color, right? That will do it. |

1. Make background.
2. Add text, which automatically creates a new layer, color it and style it as you wish.
3. On the text layer in the layers dialogue box, right click and select "blending options".
4. Select "drop shadow"
5. double click in "drop shadow" name to get a new dialogue box for the drop shadow.
6. By "blend mode" double click the color box and choose your outline color.
7. Set "distance" slider at "0"; this will center the drop shadow benath the type.
8. Set "size" at desired number of pixels.
9. Set "spread" at whatever works, try 70%
10. Set "opacity" at 100%
This will give you a solid outline. You can also play with true drop shadows by varying distance, opacity, global light, and so forth. Arguably a good drop shadow will work better for you than a simple outline.

Also what mk says, of course, but the drop shadow version allows a LOT of variations in how you do this. His is the simpler way to just outline the font.

ok played around with it last night and I gotta say the stuff you taught me rocks :)
It was pretty late though when I got home so I will probably work on it a little more *as its far from right) but I do have a better banner now than before.

Doh I forgot about that one lol I had originally done one, but when I went bcak and started again I forgot that I has lost it.
I have to fix the graphics too. They are not lining up after editing the frame sizes. I am sure I will figure that one out.
