I agree, but he ain't bad.

Jerome Bettis is a favorite of mine. I picked him up early in the season on my fantasy team because he was scoring so many TDs, and then held on to him as he became the Steelers' (and my) starter when he revved it up and played like he was 23. I LOVE this guy and think he's one of the all time greats, but I do expect him to find a run-blitz this weekend the likes of which he's never seen.

As I said in a previous message, this will be some good football.

I put my score prediction in writing. Others willing to go on the record??

So what you are saying is that the Pats have a better run D than the Steelers? Or are you saying Dillon is better than the future hall of fame Bettis?

The bottom line is that it will be a good game. Im set on the Steelers, they just have more weapons, not to mention they already beat them badly.

There D is somethering.

I think that would be "Steel Curtain"

Iron Curtain was that other team from the East, first led by Josef Stalin and Nikita Khrushchev, and later by Alexei Kosygin and Leonid Brezhnev, also known for their tenacious ground defense (ask Herr Hitler), but additionally for their long range "bomb's away" air attack ...

Never mind that the Steelers only got to one of those Super Bowls because of a bad call by the officials. Now that I think of it, a bad call in Pittsburgh ruined the 49ers perfect season too ... should have been 19-0 that year.

You mean Joe Green?

I believe that was Joe Greene, Jack Ham, Jack Lambert and company ... but remember I'm not a fan! BTW: Joe Greene in Italian is the name of a famous operatic composer.

Hey alan- if the Steelers make the Super Bowl what are your chances of getting to shoot?

I *think* my chances are quite good... and the fact that I got the credentials to this weekend's game is a very good sign!

All of the previous credential requests go through the Steelers, but the AFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl are both done directly with the NFL, so this was a little bit of a question mark for me. I applied for the Super Bowl a couple weeks ago, and got a note from the NFL saying "If the Steelers advance to the Super Bowl, we'll be happy to consider your application."

That wasn't quite a "yes," but it certainly wasn't a "no," either! I'm optimistic about it. Now if the team could win this game.........

Am I right in thinking that this is the game known on the American continent as football?

When the only time a foot touches the ball is at the kick off and field goalsâ€Â¦
And the game is predominately played using ones hands..

Oh â€Â¦and the ball is in fact NOT ball shaped..

Isn’t language wonderful?

We get Sunday and Monday games in the UK. Its not quite as good as our football (soccer to USA citizens) but is captivating. And all those commercial breaks gives me time for more beers and visits to the little boys room.

And before anyone points out the comment of about “our football”.
It is

The Brits invented the modern game â€Â¦ so thereâ€Â¦. with bells on..

I am now sticking my fingers in my ears and saying la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la so I don’t here any other comments.

Alan, thought I should tell you I got my Steeler Shrine started!

Dan got me a Steelers print for Christmas, you gave me that fantastic print of Troy which is now matted and framed on the same wall. I have those Steeler Beads you gave me draped over the corners of the frame. My ticket is in a protective sleeve and tacked up there, as well as a few other things.

And oh yeah, I am wearing my Steeler scrunchie and carrying a little extra souvenir everywhere I go.

In any given game, any team can win.

OneSweetSin, How appropriate that you have started a Steelers shrine! Shrine being defined as "....The tomb of a venerated person...." (Dictionary.com) Tomb of course implying that the shrinee is dead, which of course the Steelers will be after Sunday's Game!!

GO PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!

Well we can't use the word dead...not with the special souvenier I'm carrying around. So lets say a Steelers Collection from this season! Including some very precious cargo that was a result of a weekend in Pittsburgh.

Oh and just wait til the Pats get into the Steel City this weekend and get run over by the BUS!

Go Steelers!!!

I notice nobody's taken me up on my offer of a friendly wager... Steelers folks don't put their money where their mouths are, apparently. I'm thinking a wager of signed prints...

In that case- Go Steelers! I've got no problem at all wanting to see Alan at the Super Bowl. Anyone else? ;)

I'll jump on that bandwagon. I hope the Steelers go all the way and Alan goes with them.

Alan has to go with them all the way...who else would give me a Troy Super Bowl fix?

Speaking of Troy....

"I just let everything hang out on game day," he said.

Didn't somebody get in trouble for doing that at the last Superbowl? ; )

I'll be cheering for Alan, I mean the Steelers too.

Thanks for the support, guys! I'm hoping for the best -- the possibility of going to the Super Bowl is really exciting... a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing for sure. I'm doing my best to not get my hopes up, though.

Wave those Terrible Towels my way! :)
