only took a few shots, I forgot how good the glass is.

(i'm bored, it's been -7 for the last few days, and i've been stuck in the house)

Haha! Great shot. I love my 50mm f1.8 What do you normally keep on?

I used to ONLY use my 50mm 1.8 lens. Then I became bored with it and haven't used it for quite a while. Since it is my fastest lens, I think I'll twist it on my camera and try it again as my "walking around" lens. I normally carry my Sigma 28-105mm f2.8-4. How about the rest of you?

i usually keep a 20-35 2.8 on. it fits in my bag best that way, also keep an 80-200 2.8 and a 35-70 2.8 and an SB28 flash in the bag. sometimes the 16mm fisheye, but it's just not so good with the 1.6 crop factor of digital.

I was cleaning out my closet and found my poor F5 sitting in a trekker backpack with the 50mm on it, and decided to use the lens to take some snap shots of the kids.

Eric, thanks for the giggle - that expression is priceless !!!
Btw... was that coriander? I'd be looking like that, too, LOL!
Great shot indeed.

here's another one from that lens.

P.S. it's swish chard he's eating, and he actually loves it, i think the slime factor made his give that expression!

I feel that way every time I walk by the shelf and see my old N90. I dust it off every once in a while and check the batteries. Makes me feel like I do as I walk by and I give a pat on the head of my favorite hunting dog who's gotten too old to hunt.

Awesome shot Eric... you've definitely got some of the best eyes' on DPC.

As an aside, Nikon's crop factor is 1.5 if I remember correctly, while Canon's is 1.6 on the Rebel, 10 and 20 d.

I don't use mine (Nikkor AF 50 f1.4) that much. On the D70 and landscaping/city photography it is too tele to keep it on the whole time. When you don't do much street portraiture it is annoying. I intend to use it more this summer for outdoor portraits.
A 35mm f2 would be nice, but I have heard from several sources that there are some with oil spillage from the diafragm blades and that it isn't supersharp at the widest apertures.
