| Could someone please tell me how to make the copyright symbol on a photo in Photoshop Elements using the Type Tool? Thank you. |

| Never mind. I got it to work with the numbers pad, but the upper numbers bar it wouldn't work with. |

Yes, hold ALT while pressing 0 then 1 then 6 then 9 and release alt. Make sure you are using a font that supports the © character.

It works fine on my PC but doesn't work on my Mac.

You can find all the special characters for any installed font using the following built-in utilities:
Mac (OS 9 and below): Apple Menu > Key Caps
Windows: Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map |

I forget -- I don't use it enough, but you can get to Key Caps in Classic Mode. |

"alt-0169" only works if "num lock" is "on", and if you use the numerical keypad. If it's not working for you, check numlock. It's the upper left key in the numerical keypad. Should have an indicator light when it's on.

Or, if you go to the Character Map utility, you can copy/paste the characters from there without even knowing the codes.
I suppose only Windows could have the "Numbers Lock" option set to OFF by default on the "Numeric Keypad." |

Sorry to barge in. Just another copyright question:
Does anyone knows of a way to water-mark web-pictures files or add some other kind of copyright note to them? A plugin or some other s/a application that adds something to the file's header. It not necesarily has to be visible to the common viewer. Maybe it can only be read by some software. But something that allows me to trace pictures over the web.
Do you think such thing exists?

In Photoshop go to Filter/Digimarc/Embed Watermark and follow the directions from there. This is one way.

But the Digimarc only works on the original photo. While SFW it is lost.
I need something that will remain even for web files.

If i ever need anything, I just open Word up and use teh character map there. It has thousands of charaters and it only takes two seconds to do. Yes its cheating, but if it works than its good enough for me.

Can I ask why you want to put a © symbol on your pictures? They have been proved to put off potential clients and sales.

Actually it is your motherboard (bios) that sets this option but that is another story... :)

There is one I am considering putting on Ebay and I want to use that in my watermark for the example that I show with the lisiting. |
