Pétur this is fantastic work.
I like the tilt, I feel It increases the attitude. I hear loud music coming from that one.

I was going to enter this one, but decided to sit out. 500+ entries is enough to wade through without me adding to the pile. ;-)

Would have got a 10 off me.
Great shot.

Both of em...great work

Here is one that I like very much. I did post it Sep 13, 2004 and it has 88 views so I decided to submit a different one.

I somehow expected better photographs in this challenge something similar to the free studies or masters challenges. What do you think?
01/16/2005 11:55:03 AM · #31
Perhaps I should have entered this one. My current score is 5.1728. I have a feeling this would have scored higher. What do you all think?

Kicked this one around a bit, but decided not to enter at all in the end

Pleaaaaseeeee dont tell me more of how the tilted one would have done sooo well in the challenge:/
01/16/2005 12:08:06 PM · #34
OK- the tilted one isn't that great. I probably would have given it a 9, tops.

I like the one you entered better, if that makes you any happier :)

belive me there are not many people that feel this way.....:p

I do. Love it. But you'd get comments on the tilt, and too much sky - not enought emphasis on subject.

I knew that I'd get EXACTLY the comments I'm getting on my submission, but I chose to leave it in hoping some people had changed in the months since I'd really participated...guess not.

You are absolutely right not to have submitted it. And absolutely right in your assessment of why not. A few people commenting in a forum are not representative of the massess.

My alternates:

Judging by the score, I made the wrong choice.

I thought about entering a macro shot such as this...

But I figured there would be ALOT of macro images so I went with something else.

We are in remarkably similar situations!
Anyone think this would do better than 4.8?

As it stands now I would probably give it about a 5, but if the bush in the lower right hand was cropped out I'd definately bump it up.

My outtake is this one.

It *easily* would've done better than the photo I did enter. Oh well.
01/16/2005 01:42:12 PM · #44
My entry is 6 right now.
I had hard time deciding to submit this one

Do you think it would have been more than 6 :-)

I would have given you at least an 8 just based on the fact that you named yourself Nazgul.

Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul.

It's a great image, but I wish you'd posted a thumbnail, and that people would quit re-posting the full-sized pic. It's a bandwidth-eater, and impolite to those with dialup connections.
01/16/2005 02:04:30 PM · #47

Would have been my best of 2004, but let's face it, who hasnt seen this yet? :P
01/16/2005 02:05:14 PM · #48
These were my other choices...
