I can't wait to see the top 30 or so and to me it would be an interesting insight to see what "styles" are going to be a good thing for 2005. A benchmark maybe ? No doubt there will be water drops and smashed glass etc. Are these the kind of shots that will do it again ?? What do you think ?

I have to go over some of them again. If I liked the image but wasn't sure I had time to look and do it justice I gave it a 6 as a place holder.

If it realy stood out it was scored better of course.

I gave a lot of fives for those postcard perfect pics that didn't move me. The average ones. Out of focus, poorly lit or composed pics got less. Of the images I gave a five or below I don't have to look at again (unless one wins).

The rest I will go back and ajust the score on over the next two weeks and that will be my enjoyment out of this. If I already gave it a six it was because I liked it and thought it above average. They will not go below the score I have already given them.

You should recommend them for disqualification... If you know what challenge they were in before...! The rules did state that it has to be something not used before! I really don't want to sound like the mean one here, but it's not fair to the rest of us!

Sure I did. I just didn't feel that my best non-challenge entry would be competitive in a year-long free study of exotic scenery and lucky shots. My strength is applying creativity to focused challenges, not this.

I recognize quite a few, but none that were entered in challenges before. Photos that were only shown in forum threads or placed in personal portfolios are fair game.

8.701 sec. per picture, "Thats Fast for Judgment". I feel bad for the 5.0 and below that may not have got a good view.

Ah-ha... so it's voters like you that make my scores go up later in voting! It always makes me feel better :) Although, I wouldn't mind getting something over 5! Still reaching for that goal!
