Not doing so well. Its the most simple picture I have ever taken and I am very pleased with the way it came out, but well its not a 'simplicity' challenge, so I should have done something more complex :D

I finally thought I had an image worthy of above 6 and I'm getting killed. All comments so far have been right in line with my thinking, so why is my score low!?!?!

Telling me that my image is "brilliant" and "well done" is wonderful and I appreciate it very much, but I also think to myself, "no sh*t...that's why I entered it!!!"

Please comment if you score low to help us improve for future challenges!!!!!!!!

Thank you...

Mine had a decent start, but fell like a ton of bricks from votes 10-20, then kept on sinking! Maybe I should have named it "Titanic" ;)

I have disabled my update button as I used to get so disappointed looking at the score on this one as I really like the photo.

My Bokeh and Movie title are fighting out for who can be lowest...

How's your Bokeh score? ;-)

Just curious, people did read the part of the challenge details that said "This doesn't mean your photograph has to be somehow related to the actual movie. The movie title you pick should just be an appropriate title for your subject matter.", right? The only comment I've gotten so far implies that at least that person voted me down because my subject matter doesn't match the plot of the movie from which I used the title (I would explain further, but it would give away which photo is mine). I agree, my photo has nothing to do with the actual content of the movie, but the title still works just fine for my photo, in my opinion, and that is all the challenge demanded, correct? Perhaps I'm just bummed to only have one comment so far, but it's got me worried that others are voting the same way. I don't think my photo is a 10, but I think it's decent and I don't want it to get hurt by that.

You may well be right in you speculation (above). I'm watching two very different submissions from two different members, both of which are showing astoundingly low scores for what they are.

What you describe, may just apply.

Hey zeuszen,

You know, what's funny is that probably half the people who submitted to the MOVIE TITLE challenge are thinking, "I bet that my entry is one of the two that he's watching"! The reason I know is because that's what I immediately thought - LOL!

Would you be so kind after the challenge is over as to disclose which ones you were reallywatching?

Actually, he would need their login IDs unless they are with him all the time.

As this is my 1st attempt at any type of photography, only getting a digial camera as a Christmas present at the age of 63, and not knowing a f stop from a bus stop, I am over the moon that out of 130 people to veiw my effort 99 have thought it worth a vote. Giving an average so far of 5.3 with 3 comments. So I am well pleased.

It is.
And no, I won't be revealing anything or anyone. I'll be clad in the usual mystery. ;-(

Glad you're having fun here. Getting that first submission in and watching the voting is quite a thrill, and it never seems to diminish with time, at least for me. Even with numerous duds, I still enjoy watching the progress of the voting.

As for my entry, not doing very hot.

I decided last minute to enter the challenge, so at 11pm I took about 5 photos, went to PS to choose the best ones, and size them for DPC. At about 11:45 I wrote my little story, put the shutter, F-stop info, hit the upload button and went downstairs.

When I came back up ( past midnight) I realized I had uploaded the wrong version. I don't normally do stupid things like that but its a bummer anyway.

So far:
Votes - 93
Views - 117
Average - 6.2

I wish my mistakes would get a vote of 6.2! :-)

This is the first challenge I entered and its great. I'm quite happy with 117 votes and 5.64 for a first try!

What I don't understand is this kind of comment...
"strange colours, looks weird... I don't see the link to the title either...3."

Strange colours and weird I like as a matter of principle - so nevermind :). Did I miss a rule though? * Link to the title * ???

mmmm
5 comments all saying that the pic is stunning
yet it has dropped from 6.2 to 6 in the last few hours
have to admit I was really hopefull for it
not in a ribbon way but a top 20ish finish fingers crossed

Probably someone doesn't understand how your photo relates to the movie title you picked as the title for your photograph.

I'm suffering from the same thing. Seems like some people are looking for a direct connection of the image to the movie title. Mine is more of a pun. So far, a few commentors have understood the pun but a few have not.

Read the the challenge details people! :-)

Just remember...You should then vote on the photo as if the rule was not broken, and leave the determination up to the Site Council.

I just didn't vote on either. If they don't DQ by the end I will give 1 a good score and the other looks tacky anyway.

Probably the best thing not to vote - that's what i do as one can't be neutral with doubts of it's validity. Request they be checked though.

Also, you can never be sure! Some people are very clever at getting round the rules. [/quote

I had recommended some photos be DQ'd for spot editing and filters, but I got word back that as long as the camera is doing it internally it is valid. I don't know if this helps in determining the photos at hand but figured I'd throw it out there.

About as I expected. I did not have a particularly good photo, I just got a new Camera and wanted to participate.
Speaking of participation... it has been about 6 months since I entered a challenge, and there was a lot of good ones and a cpouple of WOW's, but I have never given so many 3's and 4's. I feel bad, but there were a lot of snapshots... How is everyone else voting? Am I off my rocker?
