Reading some recent threads about people complaining about advanced rules for one and basic for another; photography vs digital art; etc. yadda yadda yadda...
How about a dual challenge - one picture, but enter twice: one half basic editing and one half advanced editing?

Joe, that's a brilliant idea! We could learn so much from this! |

Cool idea! But maybe literally half the picture is advanced and the other half is basic. So, one picture. Literally. Ha! That'd be funny!

I'm not so sure I literally mean one picture... What I want to see is the end of the challenge, how the votes come out and then look at the edited versions side by side - I think there would be a lot of opportunity to learn.
My guess would be that the winner of the basic side would be in the top 5, if not the outright winner of the advanced side.

I'd still like to see a challange with no editing rules at all...just keep it 'photographic'.

I'd really like to see that as well - and also a no-limits editing challenge. I think we need to occasionally visit the extremes so we can appreciate the, in my opinion, well-balanced approach that is the norm here at DPC.
