Hi friends from all over the place,

I wanted to let you know that the majority of Southern California is doing just fine. We had lots of rain, some areas had lots of snow, but overall, most of the region is just wet (not destroyed as the news would have you believe). Many people back East are worried, but I can assure all of you that only certain areas were hit with mudslides and flooding, not the entire Southland. If you are going to worry about something, SE Asia needs some support and well-wishes. Cali is doing ok.

I had a little trouble getting to work with some trees down and mud flow off the mountains in the Pasadena foothills, but nothing ridiculous.

Today is back to blue skies for most of Southern Cali. But, for those tragic incidents that did occur in Ventura, Malibu and a few other places, I am terribly saddened by the loss of life and disaster that happened.

I wish all families and friends the best...

I was just wondering about that,I'll be down in the Pasadena foothills this weekend, LaCanada. Good thing I have a rental car, I may concider the extra insurance this time.

I drove through La Canada yesterday... it was a bit muddy, but nothing scary. It's really not bad here at all. I am not sure where you are from or what you are used to though.

I am originally from FL, so this is nothing!

Just make sure you know how to drive on wet roads, but they should be dry by the weekend! It's bright, blue and beautiful today!!!

Thanks! I wrote to qmdi and socal69 to see how they are doing. haven't heard back yet, but i am sure they are fine. they don't live too close to the major reported damage.

I'm in Orange County (Huntington Beach), and I'm checking in. Just fine here. We did get very wet, and my lawn hasn't been mowed in quite some time due to sickness and then rain, but looks like I'll be able to get to it this weekend.

Is it sunny in Huntington today? Pasadena / Glendale really cleared up, and fast! It's really nice out! Good luck with the lawn, glad you are safe!

Steve, do you want to join us on Jan 29th in Downtown for a photo outing with the rest of the LA area dpc'ers?
