Sky was a dull cloudy day so I cropped as much sky out as possible.

the bottom photo works nicely as a composition, though not as 'punchy' as some of your other work. the top photo is impressive subject, but as a photo doesnt do much for me.

I left comments by the pictures. Do you have a color, and maybe a wider view of the second picture?

The second picture is pretty interesting... the first is just a bit too plain. Neither has that real WOW factor that make a person look twice, unless they are familiar with the subject of the photo.

I agree the first is plain, I think because of the burned sky. I tried doing something to make it a little more interesting yesterday with this version.

here's an example of what i meant by selecting to create a new layer, then applying adjustments to that layer. just my take on your image ;-)
