I was given the catalogue of the recent exhibition of this guy's work, from the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television for Christmas. I'd never heard of him.
His most famous image is probably this shot.
The NMPFT book is at this page. Please check it out. He died in 1972, aged 30, and the collection is one of the more memorable photographic discoveries of my life. He has an enormous love for people, in all their forms, and it shows in this stuff.

Oh yeah, I've been meaning to check out this exhibition for a couple of months. I hope I catch it in time. I'm a big fan of Martin Parr, so I think I'll really enjoy it. NMPFT is a 15 min drive from my house, so I should have no excuse! |
