I just got a remote for my d70 from ebay, very happy with it! I was wondering though, when I go to put my camera into bulb mode I get to the 30 sec shutter speed and then it goes to - - how do I get it into bulb mode, what am I doing wrong?

I believe (have not yet used it) that the trick of bulb mode is that you time the exposure yourself. So you open up the shutter by hand and you close it again by hand. Therefore it might not give you a shutter time when you are determining the exposure.
It must be somewhere in the manual. I'll have a look.
The manuals says that if you use a remote for the bulb exposures that -- will be displayed instead of bulb. So what you see is normal. With your remote the exposure works as I said above.
