well....it should be here today - my new Rebel. Took 5 days and two stores to get it ordered. It is on teh UPS truck for deliver today!
Unfortunately, this area is flooded due to the heavy rains...my basement has 18" of water in it - i have no heat, no hot water and can't use the toilet (or any other item that uses the drains). The UPS guy doesn't care about my basement, but might be slowed by the 8" of water in my driveway...he usually parks on the road and walks in...fed ex and the mail drive up the driveway.
I'll be posting some comparison pics of it and my Fuji once i get it all up and going.
Damn i hate rain!

Good luck! My new 80-200 f/2.8 vibration-reduction lens is on a UPS truck for delivery today too. Luckily I live in Seattle so there is no rain today (weather has been very odd lately!).
If it comes to it (I hope it won't!), which will be more upsetting - no toilet or no new Rebel?

Rebel arrived about 25 minutes ago.
Battery is charging.
Prolly gonna get it ready and split for the mall soon. Shitty weather for pics...currently moving stuff about in the camera bag.

Now at the moment there are 3 tripods here...one near me (thankfully), one as a gift, dry in the basement, and my old one...in the basment..i suspect standing in the water.
i was going to put old and new cams on tripods and take some comparison shots...just for fun ya know. Well, still can , but more effort now i guess.
waiting on battery....waiting, waiting, just waiting...

Shot Number 1.
Auto mode with auto flash. Wills, my son, was on my lap (a bit too close...his eyes are not in sharp focus). tamron 28-80.
At least is works!
oh yeah - off to fix the profile...
Hey moody - come swimming...i have an indoor pool!

This doesn't look too bad here..but that water is about 9 inches deep and is being fed by the neighbor's flooded yard. My septic system leech bed is under there - and that is how the water is getting into my basement, thru the floor drains. I am probably lucky that the tank sits some 4 feet higher than the floor.
BTW, this is shot #2 ever. No crop. Love the DOF effect of the window mullions. My fuji had way too great a DOF for that.

Congrats on the new hardware!
Be carefull if you take your camera in the mall :)
Wasn't it Drew that said he got hassled by the mall cops for carrying his camera in the mall LOL
