I have a friend visiting Singapore and Borneo in a few weeks, wondering if it is worth asking her to pick me up a couple of compact flash.
Anyone know of the current prices for Sandisk ultra over there? is it worth bothering?

i was just in singapore at the end of november and got a really great deal (after much bargaining!) on a wide angle lens for my sony digicam, if that is any indication of what prices of things are like out there. I paid $80 cdn for the wide angle, I think they go for about $210.

I visit Singapore once or twice a year. The ONLY place to shop in SG for things electronic is Sim Lim Square. Honestly, prices there have not been that attractive on most items. Unless CF prices are far higher in the UK than in the US, it may not be worth bothering.
FWIW, here is a place where you can do some research on prices at Sim Lim Square :)

I usually go to Sim Lim Square for computer/photo equipment, it's a great place to find new technology at good prices. If you know what you want, and don't mind bargaining, check out small local shops in and around Ochard Road. Also, make sure all items are included in your bought package. They might remove a battery, or a cable and charge you extra for it.
