I just got a D70 and I noticed today that in the file properties of the shots I took recently the ISO isn't recorded. Now, I'm sure it was at 200 for the shot in question, but for future reference, do I need to start logging ISO settings? Or is there some other way to determine what the ISO setting was in post?

The D70 hides the exif Iso info deep in the file for some odd reason.
There is a program that will correct this but you will have to fix each folder seperately......
Have a look at this...

Nikon PictureProject which ships with the D70 correctly reports ISO. Photoshop will not.

This looks cool, but I believe this will change the original EXIF info making your photo invalid if submitting as proof for a challenge.

you can also see all the shooting data in Nikon View, which is a free download from nikon's website.

I never loaded any of the Nikon software, but both in Photoshop Elements 2.0 on my computer at work and Photoshop CS on my home computer the ISO is listed. Of course I very seldom shoot anything other than in the NEF (RAW) format.

FYI Extensis Portfolio lists the ISO.

The newest version of Neatimage also recognizes the ISO for jpegs.

I've looked at the source code to this tool, and since all it appears to be doing is relocating some data from one part of the file to another at a very low-level, I don't think there would be cause to disqualify the entry (and suspend the user) for "EXIF tampering".

Thanks for being concerned about the possibility though, Chris!
