Hovering about 5.4
I don't think this is giving my entry away (because quite a few other images have taken the same approach)but from the comments it appears that I am suffering because my photo contains only part of a person and not the whole person - this took me completly by surprise, I thought for once I'd managed to hit the challenge on the head :). Chances are that isn't the only reason Im getting an average score, but I'd be disappointed if it was, afterall, there is still a person in my otherwise personless photo. |

I really pleased to be in the 5 range for my second challenge ever. The mechanical challenge was a pure learning experience.
I like what one person wrote somewhere....sure it's great to get a high overall score, but as long as "some" people still thought your photo was great (7,8,9,10), then it's still a great feeling. So, I'm hoping a few people appreciate my entry. If not, back to the drawing boards! |

I'm getting killed by the WALDO voters this evening. My last 10 votes have been mostly 4s with a 2 thrown in for good measure. When I clicked the update button and got the 2, my CANDID entry received a 10 (thanks much) on the same update to ease the pain.

Nova, me too.
Early evening I was at 5.55, now 5.38. With 4 complimentary comments and one suggestion. I thought this was a 5.8 to 6.x photo. I think people want Waldo to be harder to find, but I liked this one better aesthetically, and in the last challenge, in two of the ribbons, Waldo was "right there", not really hidden.
At least you are doing well, maybe even a ribbon, in Candid. I am barely keeping my head above 5 and only two comments.

Funny you would say that when I think mine is TOO hidden! Aren't those voters impossible sometimes ??

Oh thanks, but dare I hope. I would be tickled to break into the top 10 per cent, anything better would be icing on the cake.

Waldo is bigger than life and hiding in plain sight,
and nobody can see him.
That's good.....isn't it?
Score 4.72 and climbing.
:~<
I'm not sure what went wrong on this one, I love the shot.

Yeah, mine is there and can be found but some are asking where is he. Go back and look, he is there. lol
see=saw now at 5.1
I really thought they wanted a challenge to find him. Yeah, I know with 20 seconds, good luck to those that hid him out of the immediate glance. |

I actually de-saturated mine just a bit to hide Waldo a little better.
(What a marooon) I should have left it alone.
I should have named mine the position of where Waldo can be found,
But It's so obvious when you see him. I am stumped by this challenge.
One of those...If it was a snake, he would have bit you shots.
Maybe there is something else drastically wrong with it... I just don't know. I like it. |

What do you mean 20 seconds? LOL! I'd be surprised if the average view of someone scoring a challenge is more than 6 seconds!
I wish they'd collect that statistic. Not individually, but on average.

Hard to figure some voters. If you put waldo in plain site is no good. If you hide him too much is no good.
So for the 20 second looker, he needs a semi-obvious Waldo, so that he can say, look how sharp I am, I found him in 10 seconds. If I do not see him, then this image failed.
Strange how some voters confused hidden faces with Waldo. There some wanted to actually find the face. Yet, the winners across the board had the hidden face wide open. ROFL. |

Yes, as a solution my entry is a GIF file where Waldo is first hidden, then after 5 seconds, he waves, then after 10, he starts jumping up and down, after 20, he lights his clothes on fire, and finally, after 30 seconds, he sticks out his tongue and moons you.

mine is wide open in your face and people are having trouble seeing it. I can't even believe it. Maybe we are all suffering from the speed voters and things will turn around when they go back for a 2nd look huh? |

Neil: very funny. A like a chuckle before bedtime.
Gringo: I determined to find all the waldos.
Good night all. |

Guess I'm a lucky one score-wise here. Been a roller coaster ride, that's for sure.
Almost hit 7 early today (.065 away from it) with it, but has been dropping slowly all day, little by little.
Still a full point over my average so I'm jazzed.

I only need 3 more full points to beat you now.
Just wait until the real voters come out..... You'll see. |

Now that you posted that, I took my biggest drop. I think someone's after you--but gave me the 1 by accident just now ;) |

Odd...maybe someone figured out how to transfer points, cuz' mine just went up.
If it makes you feel any better, My New Years is at 5.3354 and Candid is treading the 6's at 6.0780
1 good one out of 4 ain't bad. (counting my mechanical failure too - lol)

Same as before, hide a person in your otherwise person-less photo.
Edit for the bold on less
I am heading for my lowest score ever... It's an average pic that does not meet the challenge.
Scoring is reflecting perfectly my point.
So! Pay attention to the description of the challenge before you submit!

I was convinced this was not going to happen to me and now i find myself trapped with the candid challenge. I really thought it meant something like snapshot in an unexpected environment and one had to emphazize sphere.
I quikly looked over all the submissions..and i tell u what..im still not sure about what was meant to be done at this challenge.
Either it is a tricky word or im just a lil slow in the head
Tiberius if its any comfort to u my score is now at 3.9 and something.
But what the heck. There are a million challenges to come. Whether the votation end good or bad i always try and focus on the next step.
And actually i still like that view i produced i just put it in the wrong challenge
