We've had all sorts of great enhancements to DPC in the last few months, most recently a very generous increase in portfolio space. I'm REALLY grateful also for the ability to see at a glance who has chosen which shots as favourites.
However, I'm really missing the so called bug which used to allow me to look at all photos taken by a particular camera... non-challenge photos appearing below the challenge ones. PLEASE can we have this bug/feature back?

Any response?

Bob... since you've brought this up several times in the past, I know that you know that your request is "on the list".

I'm sure D&L are busy, so when it comes time to implementing new features that require more than just a "tweak here and there", I'd think they would tend to spend their time on those requests that will impact the most users in a positive manner (ala the ability to view who has selected your photos as favorites).

Personally, I don't think whining about it in the forums is going to make it happen any faster. It's on the list. You'll just have to be patient.

Whining. Hmmmm. That winds me up. If you'd said that to my face, you'd certainly remember it. It's my pet peeve of this community that people are accused of 'whining' when they DARE to suggest any changes. I think you'll find my original post was quite respectful. The tone of what I said was 'thanks for all the fantastic upgrades, please don't forget this feature'.
A non-arrogant way to respond to this would be 'sure, we haven't forgoten', or 'it's way down on the priorities because of x'. Instead, I just want to slap you.
Sometimes I despair of the community spirit here.

I only used the term "whining" because you've posted about this same thing on numerous occasions, and have been told each time that it is "on the list".

You asked for a response and I provided one, I'm sorry if it was not worded exactly like how you would have preferred. I'm not a Public Relations expert. I'm just a guy who helps validate challenge entries.

It is responses like yours that read wayyyy too much into a single word that makes me wonder why I even bother taking the time to reply.

Thanks for wanting to slap me. Especially after I just added the photo for your new camera earlier this morning which you also "complained" about in another thread. sigh...

C'mon guys, life is too short to be bickering about little stuff like this. Shake hands and let's be friends, okay?

While I understand the rationale, when I read EddyG's first response I thought, "Uh, oh. This is going to get ugly," and checked my pantry for popcorn. I have a great deal of respect for both of you, as I suspect you do for each other. I seriously doubt Eddy intended to get Lobster boiling. Just let it slide.

I probably would have run with the comment- "But I WAAAAAAAANT it!" ;-)

I've probably posted 3 times on this topic in the last 12 months. If that's numerous, then I'm guilty. I reposted because it was never made clear if this feature was being reinstated at all. The feature was on DPC a year ago, until it was suddenly taken off. This makes me inclined to believe it would take minutes to put back.
I also believe I phrased today's request with tact and respect, which was why I was thrown by the reply.
I do have a thing on DPC about the number of people... not just me... who are constanly accused of 'whinging' when I believe they are just being reasonable. This gets on my nerves, as I believe it's the sc's responsibility to represent DPC users, and not belittle them.
And thanks for adding the photo for my camera... no need to be such a martyr over it though. I hardly complained about it in the other thread... it was light hearted. It really wasn't important.
So, let's start again... as I said, there seemed to be a bit of controversy about whether to reinstate the feature I mentioned. I wanted to make sure it is on the list. Is it definitely on the list?
If your response wasn't intended to annoy, then I will certainly let it go. I will definitely speak up though when people are accused of moaning or whinging in future.

I find it interesting how often the typographical error "whinging" occurs (including by myself) -- apparently once we start to type the "in" the final "g" gets added whether needed or not ... : )

However spelled, I found its use inopportune but not malicious.

I'm not sure but I think "whinging" actually IS a word for Brits...

Robt.

Yup:

whinge

intr.v. Chiefly British whinged, whing·ing, whing·es

To complain or protest, especially in an annoying or persistent manner.

It is. As an ex-pat American living here in the UK, it's always struck me as odd.

moaning, whining, whinging, sheesh... whatever! :-)
Seriously, is it actually on the list?

Yes, it is on the list of user-requested site enhancements that D&L consider for possible implementation, just like the vast majority of other requests that are posted in this forum.

Thanks ... as they say, come to the ballpark everyday and see something new ...

However, when I type it that way, it's a typo : )

Actually you only used the term "whining" because you lack common courtesy. If you aren't able to respond to occasionally repetitive requests in a courteous way perhaps you should rethink responding at all.
