Hope everyone had an enjoyable but safe evening last night. I'm looking forward to this year's next photo op.

Santa was really good to me; somehow he knew exactly what I needed ("wanted") in my gear bag.

Happy New Year to all y'all ! ! !

Here's our daughter on her wheels...........

Nothing special about my last photo for the year. This was taken during a party, near midnight the fireworks starts going off all over town. This was taken 3 seconds before midnight.

Probably most of them weren't technically their last shot. I mean are these people way too uptight and never play with the camera? :/

mine was actually my last shot (or one of them - they were all the same subject). i looked at some other people's shots+dates and noticed that some weren't even close to being their last - but oh well.. i almost didn't post, considering that mine didn't really reflect the new year.. but got bored and did it anyways :p

Yeah, I hear ya...Are we that vain that we can only post the "good" photos that we took "in the last little while"?

Post your last photo taken in 2004, dang it! You're not going to be judged for (*gasp*) taking a 'bad' photo!

I appreciate your photo, Ben (Konador)!

My wife did it. Took her about 2 hours. Results were a hit, at least with my daughter and son and law.

I'm not very good at night shots, comments welcome.

If you think about it every second of a new year is a year away from that same second last year so really... Every image is your last photo, take it like you mean it!

My last photos were actually taken in the daytime, while snowshoeing:

It's good to be back here on DPC!

David

Welcome back!

I like this shot, did you dodge the snow around the base of the trees?
Maybe dodging around that very little tree on the left would look nice also?

Nice work as always :)

Hi Robin, No I didn't dodge around the base of the tree. There was a break in the clouds, and I got lucky, but I did enhance the highlight with a very faint light render. Thanks!

Something a little different to end the year ...

Very little post-processing at all on these beyond adding the text & borders, apart from the green one which had to be hue-shifted because "it" didn't do green.

You know Brad, that looking at the thumbnail I thought this was a man with a hat carrying his big bride (with black shoes) over his shoulder. Probably too much time looking at Hidden faces.
