I hope one of you can help me get going. I have tried to read instructions but can't find the answer.
I just purchased Photoshop CS and I can not get it to open a raw file from mt 20D. Do I need to download a plug-in from Adobe or should it already be able to do it. When I try it gives me a message that it is the wrong kind of file and can't open it.

This is my first venture into the RAW thing, so I don't know s@#$.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Richard,
You probably need the updated RAW converter from Adobe, it's downloadable from their website. Just a moment, I'll post a link...

Edit:
Here is the download page for the v2.4 (beta) version of the RAW converter. It supports the 20D. I believe they will be releasing the 2.4 final version shortly, the beta will get you going until then.

I've got the link, just didn't know for sure if I needed it. I didn't want to add something that might cause problems down the road.

Thanks
Dick

if you're talking abuot download it off of your 20D - i'm not sure if it has the same problem as the 300D.. but i know that i was able to use microsoft scanner/camera wizard to download my raw images (a lot of people mention having to buy a card reader or new software, so figured i would mention it in case that's your problem)

When I first upgrade to CS I could not open RAW either.

I downloaded the RAW update support from Adobe for Photoshop CS and it handled my problem just fine.

Mine is a 300D, but you should be fine as long as you get the right one for your model.
