Sorry, long title. I recieved a digital background setup (chromakey backdrop, cd with backgrounds) for my birthday. I have looked online but I'm not the best search engine navigator. Does anyone have any tips for blending people into digital backdrops??

I use digital backdrops to shoot books and isolate them for our online bookshop.

I shoot the books against chromakey, select out the background and reverse selection, and then copy the books themselves to clipboard.

I have another file open with a digital background similar to the "painted" ones portrait photographers use. I copy the books from clipboard onto a new layer in this image. Hide the background, select the books, save the selection. Then with the selction live I go to adjust selection and turn it into a border. I throw a little gaussian blur into the border to soften the edges of the books slightly. Size of the border is usually no more than 6 pixels.

There may be an easier way, I donno.

Robt.
