| what is a good way to get into photojournalism? |

I hope there's a simple answer to this with step-by-step instructions, because I'm willing to do what it takes!
Personally, I am trying to establish contacts at different newspapers (starting with the local one with an approximate 50K readership). Once I can get a few photos in print complete with story, I can hopefully slowly work up from there.
Eventually, I'd like to go to school for it...

I know that the photographers at the paper in my smalltown write the stories that they photograph for...so I'm hoping I can get to know what they're looking for and do a small job for them.
It seems wishful thinking now, but as my wife said "You didn't think you'd get the job you have now...and you didn't get it by sitting around and waiting for it to happen!"
It's not that I have a dream-job now, but I love it a million times more than retail management!

i hear ya samsa, i am in boston too and it can be difficult. i've looked into the phoenix and weekly digs, but there doesnt seem to be much out there at the moment.
