Cool, welcome to the DSLR crew. Did ya get any lenses/accessories yet? I got the 50mm 1.8 - extremely sharp and great dof control for such a small cheap lens.

no, just the 18-55 kit lens and an ultra II 512 MB card. Probably tax return season I'll get some more goodies.

How long until Thursday?
I ordered my 300D today...10 minutes ago. W/ no kit lens, but a tamron 28-80 3.5/5.6 and canon 50 1.8. It'll get me started, and i have a friend that does railfanning with a rebel. He says i can try his lenses ...then i'll be able to decide..,maybe...right now, too broke and too confused - too many choices!

Is it Thursday yet?

Dave I think everyone settled on 8am at the boat ramp at station square. Im probably going to catch sunrise at west end lookout like 6:30 or so. Ill PM you my cell#...

8 am boat ramp/gate - I'll be there.
HOPEFULLY i'll have my rebel..Adorama was playing games so i canceled it there and ordered from b&h yesterday...they assure me it'll be here in time.
I'd like to see dawn too, but at this rate i'll still be reading the manaul and charging the battery. ;)

I always have my cowboy hat in the trunk, you never know when it'll come in handy. Here's what it looks like: Outback Hat. It helps me blend in with the locals when photographing rodeos.
