I hope this is in the right forum. ok, I just spent the past hour taking pictures, I have been reading different articles on the d 70 and found that raw+jpeg mode fits what I wanted for today so I decided to use that. now that I have the raw files what do I have to do to be able to edit them? I understand raw, but I am haveing problems figureing out how to use all of it's "perks" now that I have a camera that has a raw option on it. can someone please help me, any information on what to do next would be more than I have now.
...I know, I'm hopeless |

the D70 comes with two programs..
a) Picture project (I use only this for uploading to my pc, and sometimes to convert to B&W or Sepia purely for the rich tones)
b) Nikon Capture demo (I use this to alter WB and anything else having to do with RAW files)
You can get the full version of Capture for around 100 US Dollars.

Do you have Nikon View, Nikon Editor or Nikon Capture (Editor)? (comes with your camera)
You can open raw files in Nikon View and check them out and choose ones you want to edit or delete.
Also, if you are using Adobe Photoshop, you can download the latest Adobe RAW plugin and dop it in to the folder file formats folder.
When you open the RAW file with Nikon Editor or Nikon Capture Editor or with Adobe Plugin, you will see the comtrols you are looking for. |

I'm using Gimp with the UFRAW plugin - works perfectly, and at $0 (£0,€0) it's pretty good value :)
