Unbelievable, got up this morning and there she was playing the game early in the morning.

Not Halo2 or Fable or any of those cool games, but non the less she was playing that Game machine that she is not to crazy about.

We was walking through Bestbuy the other day and ran across a game called Yourself!Fitness. Looked interesting enough (to her) so we picked it up. This is not a game but a well put together excercise program that tracks your fitness progress, calories, yadi yadi ya...

A beautifully rendered model takes you through tons of routines designed for the goals that input in the beginning.

I thought it might be a lamer but after going through some of the yoga/pilates routines found it to be a cool deal.

Just thought I'd share...

Pretty cool. Not too sure how it would go over as a belated Christmas present though!

They should make photography games, seriously.

For example, you are able to walk through an environment you choose like a forest, fantasy-land ect. ect. and can snap pictures which are rated on the game... Would that not be cool? But that's just a bad excuse to not go outside and do the same thing in real life... :p
I don't play games much but they did the photography thing in "Pokemon Snap!" That game's cool. :)

That actually looks pretty good. How long has she been using it? A lot of the time those type of games have immediate interest but not much staying power.

We have only had it for a couple of days now...but she has used it two and resting today.

BTW: I found out this is available for PC, and soon on PS2 as well.

www.yourselffitness.com Game Faq.

Good things: no annoying Denise Austen voice, the voice over is done by Yumi Lee which is soft and non-abrasive (I think she did the modelling as well).

Way cool music (lots of genres to choose from), many different areas to choose to work out in that are beautifully rendered.

They use the rewards system to keep the program interesting, like other games as you make it to certain levels other areas are unlocked and available to you. Here I don't know what that would be, maybe new dojo's, music, clothes???

The thing we haven't figured out yet is that they say you can use home equipment, ie Balance ball and weights. On the box we can see maya using a ball to work out on but haven't figured out how to see that on the TV.

I think Shawn will stick with it because she can do it in the comfort of the living room when she sets the time. She had been going to Curves but travel and open times made it hard for her to stick to any kind of schedule.

I does look pretty neat and I will start just after the new year (ha). I did do the initial create character and it almost killed me. It acesses where you are and what sort of routines that you should be doing by doing resting heart rate and active heart rate...two minutes of jumping jacks (thats what hurt me), crunches and push ups to test all led by, you guessed it, Woody.

BTW: there is no calling this a game in my house because my wife doesn't do games.

Fatal Frame series also uses photography has a weapon. There was a digimon game that you can transfer a photo of yourself into the game using your Sony camera.

Gran Turismo 4 has a photo feature in which you can drive one of your cars up to picturesque background snap a shot and print it out on your printer.

The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker for the Nintendo Gamecube also has parts where you have to use a camera to get further in the game. Also, If you take snapshots of the various creatures throughout the game once you get the color camera, you can get them made into sculptures in the "sculpture gallery" on one island. Quite a neat little added feature.
