I submitted the wrong file when I entered and didn't realize it until too late. I should have entered the one I ran through Neat Image. Oh well..I don't think it would have greatly affectly the score or placement, although it is an improvement.

My entry:

SHOULD have entered:

I'm sorry to hear about your mistake in the submition.
The second picture does look amazing and so much better the the actual submition.
In any case both are wonderful!

Here's my outtake, I think I made the right choice for my entry though. This one is based on one of Jacko's photos.

Yep...I like your original entry much better. Second one is good, but that tree shot is really nice.

Here is the shot I almost entered, just wasn't happy with the quality of it compared to the real 'flirtacious' shot, which is an amazing picture. What do you think of my interpretation?

I think I would have scored your outtake higher. Technically, the entry was okay, but just didn't have the impact for me. Your take off on "flirtacious" has a similar candid feel to the original and I think it works well.

I think the original's lighting was bit better, but this isn't bad at all.

Thanks for the comment, maybe I should stop second guessing myself and not worry so much. Cheers.

Yeah...it's hard for me to get past the "if only's" on this challenge. I did work hard on the shot and learned a lot. After all, it's just for fun, right??? I like both of your shots and you have some nice ones in your portfolio...so relax!

Although I am happy with my deja-vu outtake , I am not sorry for changing my submition .
I admit I changed it about a 1000 times before I decided, and it took me about a 1000 shots until I got the one I was happy with, but I am happy alright :-)

And thanks a lot to the original takers on those, Remie and Jacko, for amazing photographs which are a great inspiration!

I forgot...I even gave a consideration for turning the photo upside down and calling it "Exclamation!" because of the perfect shape of the water drop. What do you think?

This was done by cutting out the stars on black vinyl(mounted on clear plexi) then placed on a light box with partitions to hold the different lights. It was certain to get in trouble because it has a digital look. I used the cutout for the RGB cocktail. Lit with black light in top.

Thank you but the voters will find your shot more appropiate. It is very good and the use of the fork gives the feeling of electricity.

I feel for you. I have also had a similar experience.

Ursala's outtake won a POTD or POTW somewhere -- I just can't remember where. I tried to look for it. As usual, her work is beautiful :)

Didn't think this was good enough so I didn't enter it.

Love that fork, Ursula!

"Eating Light" -LOL

I was going to enter something like this, but didn't have the time for proper lighting so I sat out.
