Homefield Advantage and Ben's injured ribs. That sums up the Steelers today. All that's left is for photos from Alan.

Alan did you make your reservations for Jacksonville yet?

heh...sucks about big ben -- I bet he won't start next week. He might have to rest up and be ready for the playoffs (I just hope that doesn't get them out of a 'rhythmn' so to speak).

Fun game though -- looking forward to see Alan's shots -- as always hehe.

Sorry for the delay... just getting the feeling back in my extremities :)

excellent shots Alan. Any chance you got the shot of Ben being sacked? Oh and where is the Troy photo of the week...lol.

Oh and I forgot to mention earlier that the Steelers also now have a bye week in the playoffs. Time for some serious healing before the playoffs.

Alan if you see Ward next week, flick him in the ear for me and tell him 21 yards is nowhere NEAR acceptable. I'm in jeopardy of losing my fantasy pool this week because of his poor production. Preesh.

You mean when he got injured? I was too busy shooting Tuman, who just scored... I was in the end zone for that one. I didn't know until a couple minutes later that anything had happened to Ben. Hope he's better for the playoffs! I'll be surprised if they start him against Buffalo next weekend.

Yes Alan when he got injured. Press is reporting it as a rib injury. From early reports it seems speculation is for Maddox to start next week to allow Ben a few weeks to recover.

actually it looks like it will work out. all I need is for Chambers (Mia) to catch a couple of balls tonight and all will be well again. Thanks for the support. It's been a very trying and emotional day ;)

Hey Alan,

Back in the early 80's I did photography for the Chargers for two years. Tail end of the Lance Alworth and Louie Kelcher days. I feel for your expremities :-)

So it is bad that Ben is hurt and out for some rest - but remember, he is our backup quarterback.

We have our first string QB back in now! He might just take off - look at Bettis - last year they said he was old, injured, worn out. Not so!

Ben not starting will end his wins as a rookie at what, 12, 13? Lost count, too few fingers. ;)

correction he WAS the back up quarterback. He was given the position as a starting qb mid season.

Indeed, Ben IS the starter... and I'll personally be setting up a mini-shrine in a corner of the house somewhere I can conduct a healing ritual or something to ensure a speedy recovery!

I like Tommy Maddox, and I think he's a tremendous person and everything (we even exchanged pleasantries as he came off the field during pre-game on Sunday), but I honestly don't think we'd be 14-1 had he continued as the starter this season.

I'll be anxious to hear what Cowher has to say at the press conference this afternoon.

I haven't heard any updates on Ben. All I have heard is he has a rib injury. Alan you will have to update me on it when you hear something...is it bruised, cracked or broken ribs or something else?

They say that the hospital tests showed that there were no serious injuries, and that his rib is just bruised. He's not expected to play on Sunday in Buffalo, but that's a meaningless game anyway. A lot of players are expected to skip the game or play very little... like Bettis & Burress.
