I`m looking to buy an external flash for my 602z but after reading some postings on the subject, I`m totally confused. :(

There seems to be some concern about the voltage of some flash guns and the 602z which can damage the camera, can any owners of the 602z who have an external flash post which flashes they are using so I know what makes and models will work with the 602z.

Thanks

The 602, and any Fuji camera that is NON slr can take a flash up to and including 400 volts. That is just about anything ever made. I guarantee that info on volts to be correct.

I use a Quantarray QB 350A and QBSZ-370. I got them on ebay for about $20 each. THe first is small and light, bounce only. the second is abig, uses 4 AA batts and will swivel, zoom, bounce.

The 602 is not TTL capable - so you will have to run it in manual mode and set the exposure your self. Not tough, but not perfect either.

Both my flashes have 3 power settings and i have taken shots up to 1/4000 of a second, although 1/250 is more practical.

I have the S602 and have been using the Vivitar 285HV (B&H Photo - $80.00). Nice flash - you may also want to look at the Vivitar 283 (less expensive).

I use a sunpack Auto 301 with my S7000. its an older model I got 2nd hand from a camera shop. It works pretty good, I use it mainly as fill in using the camera in Apature mode.
