Clubjuggle will be visiting me in Phoenix for 7 days, beginning January 1. We will be doing a series of day trips, and would like to invite all local photographers to join us. The only set day we have is Friday January 7 we will be going to Tucson and Tombstone. Any other suggestions are welcome, and we would love to have you join us!

I can only wish! My family lives in Prescott Valley, but there's no trip in my near future.
@BAMartin: I must've missed something somewhere along the line too, I thought you lived in Woodbridge, VA. (I remember thinking that you weren't that far from me, (Culpeper, VA).) |

I did live in Woodbridge until the end of August, when I moved to Phoenix to attend the Culinary Arts school here. (Well that was not the entire reason I moved here, but worked out to be the most important). Clubjuggle is visiting in part to give a public critique of my French cooking skills.
Barbara :-)

Ah, I did "miss" that you had moved.
Culinary Arts school sounds like fun - sure wish I could help in the critique of your cooking skills, I LOVE French cooking! |

Hey... I don't care what everyone else says... I think getting together for an AZ photo safari is a good idea while Clubjuggle is in town.
I know... I know... a lot of you feel that hanging out with a site council member like Clubjuggle is bad karma. I sympathize. But we should show him every hospitality and some photo ops in the Great Southwest. After all, he did have an excellent blue ribbon winning image.
Can you bring Heida along too? Please?? :)

Had opportunities a few years back to shoot from Phoenix up the corridor through Sedona, Flagstaff, and the Grand Canyon. With 7 days, easily do-able.
Sunrise on the east rim and sunset on the west rim (@ GC).

Ohhhhh.... there are so many scenic photo ops down in this neck of the woods. Yours is one of the good ones.
Another loop is the Montezuma Castle, Tuzigoot, Jerome, Prescott loop...
Also is the Southern loop to Picacho Peak, Suguaro National Park, Arizona Sonora Desert Museum and Old Tucson...
Then you have Tombstone...
The drive up to Monument Valley is long, but worth the effort...
There is the East Grand Canyon tour up to Page AZ to see Watipaki, Sunset crater, Flagstaff, Echo Cliffs, Horseshoe Bend, Antelope canyon and various other neat places...
Another loop up there to the East is Canyon De Chelly National Monument, Petrified Forest National Park, Winslow and the Homolovi Indian ruins.
Then there is a southwestern loop to Organ Pipe National Monument, Yuma Territorial Prison and Lake Havasu City...
Then, if that is not enough for you, locally in Phoenix is The Desert Botanical Gardens, the Superstition Mountains, Papago Park, Goldfield and the Heard Museum among other places.
Outside that, there are plenty of other places to go. :)

Clubjuggle arrives at approximately noon tomorrow. I figure from the airport we will swing through the downtown area and maybe the botanical gardens. Friday is definatly set aside for Tucson as CJ has a relative there that we will meet up with. My daughter will be in school, so we will be doing day trips, but can do one over nighter (I will allow her one mental health day). Lots of wonderful suggestions here....we will squeeze in as many as possible.
Barbara
PS CJ is not one of those stuffy old Site Councel members. He is WAY cool!

I'm still trying to get you info on the juggling gathering at the park. Will you be able to check the site when you are here in Phoenix?

Definately get in touch with us. I think you have my number Barbara. I would love to meet up at least once! We've just moved so I don't have a lot of opportunity to be online and won't be watching this thread.
Hope to see you soon.... |

Friday CJ and I will be driving to Tucson for the day. We will be joined by (tentatively) Tfaust, Louddog, Stdavidson. If there is anyone else interested, please either post to this thread or PM me for more details. (Yes AZCrazy, this is for you!).
