After reviewing my entry, my score actually seems a bit on the generous side. I entered at the last minute and rushed it. Should have sat this one out...

Actually, on a scale from one to ten 5.5 is average.
{1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10}=55
55/10= 5.5

yes, of course. we should add 0 to the scale :) and then the avg would be 5 (55/11)

When I went to school 10 devided by 2 was 5. One half of 10 was 5. I think 1 means 1 to 0 in most peoples minds.Therefor 5 is average. I would like to vote a 5.5 instead of 5 or 6 sometime, and it would be nice to put a .5 in there to.
If 5.5 was average I would vote a 6 as much as 5 for an average score. Because when I vote a 5 by your reasoning I am voting people below average. How many people vote low when they just want to vote a picture average?

Everyone is telling me my subject is out of focus. Although I applied a soft focus filter to give the photo a warm Christmas feel. Now I am at a 4.6, o'well.
