well done - nice and sharp - good angle on the bird.

It's a pretty good stop motion capture with good detail visible in the wings. This image could easily have resulted in underexposure and silhouette of the bird given the bright backlighting from the water. I think there could be a bit more detail in the black of the head and neck of the bird, and would have liked to have seen more color from the surrounding background, but it's a good capture. |

I've seen quite a few of those around here lately. Haven't gotten a shot that comes close to this though. I "chased" one around the Mission San Luis Rey grounds the day I took my picture for the Landmarks challenge, but he knew I was watching and wouldn't let me get close enough - my G5 just doesn't have the reach I need.
I like the way the heron is backlit by the reflection of the water. Great job of getting good detail on the bird while not getting totally blown out by the reflection. |

Nice shot but too bad the sun wasn't behind you. |

Nice shot. I tried to get a pic of one a few weeks ago. I didn't have my long lens...only 24-120vr. The thing looked like a teradactle lol. The damn thing was eating the fish in my pond! |
