I am still learning with my new camera (Finepix s5100):





Gimp Processing:
Resize
Sharpen

Any suggestion?

Your first image would be much nicer if the 'threads' hanging directly in front of the faces of your subject weren't there. The 'threads' hanging on the left side of the image provides nice framing to your subjects, in my rank amatuer opinion.

What Nelzie said, plus:

A little fill light on the woman's face would be nice, and the baby's face seems to be greenish, some color adjustment is in order unless s/he's martian by birth.

The second shot is sweet but the composition is static. It could work better reframed so the face isn't smack-dab centered.

the first one is too busy , handing stuff . the second is ok but I think you need to show his eyes
