I know it's "just another sunset pic"...but any comments? |

I think the layers of colors are just gorgeous - and not typical. Here on my monitor at work, there is a lush softness to the "air" also. Thanks for posting this beauty!

Were you driving or parked when you took yours?

Originally posted by generale: Really nice color in the lower part, with no blown-out area near the sun. Good detail on the fine branches without any haloing from oversharpening.
I personally don't care for what seems to me a grayish pink in the upper sky, but there's nothing wrong with it either. I tend to push that part of my photos towards darker, purplish colors.
Overall a fine job : ) |
Likewise on the way home yesterday ... : )

I was driving home, but pulled off an exit to find a place to snap a shot. I parked and took about 4 shots. Unfortunately, I didn't really have time to move to a different spot before the colors were gone...but I'm glad I took the extra time and effort to get this one. Sometimes it's just too easy to talk myself out of taking the time to do it!
Is this kinda what you had in mind for the color? This is just playing around with some PS settings I've never used before ("replace color?")

Yes, I like that better, although now some of the yellow behind the trees seems markedly redder -- good, but different.
I do almost all my color-adjusting with Curves, but there's probably dozens of "right" ways to do almost anything, from re-creating "reality" to creating quite alternate realities -- check out some of the original/modified comparisons in this gallery and also this gallery at pBase. |
